London 2012 Home Head Journey

Why we're getting behind Hatti, Amy and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local runner, Hatti Dean, and local archer, Amy Oliver, as they attempt to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Hatti Dean – Athletics

Hatti Dean trains at the Hallamshire Harriers in Sheffield. Oxford-born Hatti has been running since the age of seven and, at just 29, has already finished 4th in the European Championships steeplechase and is a past winner of the Great Britain National Championships. When asked how she felt about Sytner Sheffield and BMW, she said: ‘Amy and I are really grateful for the support. It's tough trying to qualify for a place at the Olympic Games and it's a big help knowing that Sytner Sheffield and BMW are behind us.’

Amy Oliver – Archery

Amy Oliver trains locally at the Dearne Valley Archery Club in Sheffield. South Yorkshire-born Amy has been an archer since the age of seven and, at just 23, has already won a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, as part of the ladies team, and in 2011 was ranked 1st at the World Championships selection shoot. ‘It's fantastic having a brand new car from Sytner Sheffield and BMW,’ said Amy. ‘We do a lot of travelling so it's great that we have the cars from now until the end of the 2012 Games - and that we can arrive everywhere in style!’

Getting involved

Nigel Marsh, Dealer Principal at Sytner Sheffield, says: ‘This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved in the Games. We're really happy to be backing Hatti and Amy – especially since they're both local athletes training extremely hard in Sheffield to represent their country at London 2012.’
